This is my 2nd year as a 4th grade math and science teacher at McNeil. I have always loved learning and some of my fondest memories are of my elementary school teachers. I realized at a young age that I wanted to be just like them when I grew up; it is my goal to instill a passion for lifelong learning in every student! I was born in Houston, Texas, and then moved to Plano, Texas at the age of 4. As a child, I enjoyed dance (especially tap), singing, and church activities. Later, I joined the band as a percussionist and earned a spot on the Plano East Senior High Drumline. After high school, I followed in the footsteps of my dad and brother and went to Texas A&M University (WHOOP!) in College Station, Texas to study Elementary Education. I not only gained a degree at A&M, but also adopted my dog, Stitch, and most importantly, met my future husband, Anthony!
I returned home to Plano and taught 4th Grade for 3 years. During that time, I moved to Frisco with my new husband, and we were blessed with our first daughter, Becca. I decided to take some time away from teaching to focus on our family, to which we’ve added two more daughters, Emma and Natalie.
I came back to teaching when my husband decided to take his passion, coaching volleyball, full time and start a local youth club, Power Volleyball. We are truly blessed to both be able to pursue our passions - teaching and coaching - while also spending lots of time with our girls. Becca is now in 2nd grade at McNeil, Emma will start Kindergarten next year, and Natalie is almost 3.
We’ve lived in McKinney for over two years now and have really enjoyed getting to know the city and our community. Some of my favorite things to do are spending time with family, attending and serving at our local church, sewing, crafting, baking, and reading.
I’m looking forward to a wonderful year as a McNeil Mustang!
